What's in this Course?

During this short course, we will have the pleasure of interviewing Dr Karl to discuss the structure of the Earth and introduce children to the recently discovered 5th layer.

Students will learn about the structure of the Earth. They will understand the different layers of the Earth and their properties. The concept of plate tectonics and its effect on the surface of the Earth will be introduced. Students will also learn about the composition of the Earth’s atmosphere and its importance to life on Earth.

Teaching Program

The teaching program is designed to walk teachers through the process of teaching the concept of the Earth’s layers. The document is aligned with the curriculum but can be downloaded and edited to suit the needs of your school or state. The course documents include real-world learning opportunities in which students use the knowledge they have just gained, to improve the lives and the knowledge of those around them.

Real World Learning

Although this course explores the layers of the Earth, it encourages and develops a range of soft skills as students teach younger children about this concept using the materials they create.
