Discover how plants adapt to live in the Arctic regions and how they use the sun’s energy and the water below the ground to produce their own energy.
During this short course, students learn about how plants adapt to live in the Arctic regions and how they use the sun’s energy and the water below the ground to produce their own energy.
The class will watch a video on the process of photosynthesis and try to explain it in their own words. We will be focusing on botany, but also allowing the class to work collectively towards one common goal!
The teaching program is designed to walk teachers through the process of teaching about the plants of the Arctic and beyond. The document is aligned with the curriculum but can be downloaded and edited to suit the needs of your school or state. The course documents include real-world learning opportunities in which students use the knowledge they have just gained, to improve the lives and the knowledge of those around them.
During this course, your children will get to create amazing resources which they will use to pass on their knowledge. Working collectively they will not only consolidate their knowledge of the plants of the Arctic, but they will then use this knowledge to teach others and create resources to assist with this activity.
